This Week's New Books

If you're wondering why I'm not having an IMM - read this post.

There are so many new "Look at my new books!" memes that I'm having troubles choosing. I know a few of the hosts personally and I don't feel like picking teams on this one. So, I introduce my own conglomeration of all the memes out there! If you're hosting a similar meme or if one of your friends hosts one, let me know and I'll add their graphic (:

So I kind of caved and bought some books even though I'm still on a book buying ban. I keep telling myself it's okay though, because they're all books in series I've already read the first book of. I have to buy them, otherwise they might not sell those covers any more!

Sigh, the lengths I go in deceiving myself. The books are really awesome though, and I can't wait to dig into them (:

Click on the covers to go to their Goodreads page.

For review:

Another Outskirts Press book (thanks!). It looks like a mystery kind of book. Looking forward to read it during the Review Copy Cleanup!

Gifted:

I got my very first RAK!! If you want to know more about Random Acts of Kindness, go to the Book Soulmates site.
I got my RAK from Christine, a reader of my blog. Thank you thank you thank you! <3 I'm so happy you thought of me! I can't wait to start Magic Bites, it's an urban-fantasy series I've had my eyes on for so long. Look look, she even drew balloons on my card!

So what do you have in your mailbox, on your shelf or to showcase? Leave a comment with your link so I can visit you back!

Magic Bites sounds just my kind of thing, I will have to put that one on the wishlist.  I know they are necessary but book buying bans are tough!

Happy reading!

Being good and not buying is so difficult.  I can't resist for long either.

Ugh, I'm having problems sticking to my book buying ban too!  It's not that I'm being cheap (although I tend to spend too much on books I don't have time to read), but I feel guilty buying new books when I have so many from BEA and others wasting away on my TBR shelves...  But Meg Cabot's new Heather Wells book is out soon (or now, I'm not sure), and of course I had to buy my book club read this month, so it's all good, right? ;)

Looking forward to your review of Magic Bites!

I don't want to sign up for RAK because I don't really *need* more books than I can afford to buy myself...but I do like being able to send a fellow blogger something they covet but can't afford.

I'll have to keep an eye out for Magic Bites at work. Lately I've been wanting to branch out and give urban fantasy a shot, but I just don't know where to begin. :) So I'll be sure to keep an eye out for that one.

While I'm not on any kind of book buying ban, I can relate. I work in a bookstore where we sell books for $5-6 a piece for hardbacks with paperbacks being around $2-3. If those prices weren't awesome enough, I get an extra discount (50%!!) as an employee. So, yeah. I totally feel you on the whole not being able to resist.

My new books this week!

I've started Magic Bites, and so far it's really good! Quite an unique concept for an urban-fantasy series. Thanks for stopping by!

Haha, you can say that.

Yes, it comes so highly recommended!

I heard sooo many great things about the books, I'm so happy that I can finally read it. And yes, I have the best readers *huggles them all*

Celine said...

Haha, indeed!

I know exactly what you mean.. I have around 100 unread books on my shelves, and I'm not even counting ebooks here. It just feels wrong to keep on adding books that you can't read. I try to keep it down by going on book buying bans (:

Thanks Kate!

I guess I don't need new books.. But since my grand total on my bank account is 25 euro right now, it feels nice to receive a bookish gift (:

Great authors to start are Kim Harrison (book one is Dead Witch Walking) and Kelley Armstrong (book one is Bitten). At least, those were the ones that got me into urban-fantasy (:

Oh man, that must be awful hard to resist. I'm not even sure I COULD resist bargains like that. $2 for a paperback, gah! Too bad we barely have any cheap bookstores in the Netherlands. I'd love to spend some time in yours, lol.

Thank you Paige (:

Yeah (: It's been on my wishlist since I started reading urban fantasy books. And now I can finally read it! *happy dances*
